About Us

Meet The Owners

What started as a shared dream between three passionate individuals has grown into a vibrant space that brings people together through culture, music, food, and unforgettable experiences. Each partner brought their unique strengths, ideas, and energy to the table — united by a single vision: to create a place where warm hospitality meets dynamic nightlife. Through hard work, creativity, and community spirit, they built more than just a venue — they built a home for celebration, connection, and Morabeza.

01

Welcoming Spirit

Our doors are open to everyone, and our welcoming spirit is what makes Nós Morabeza truly special. It’s an invitation to belong — to eat, dance, laugh, and celebrate together. No matter where you’re from, here you’ll always find a place that embraces you with warmth and joy.

02

Kindness

Kindness is woven into every interaction — from the way we greet our guests to how we treat one another. It reflects the Cape Verdean way of life: humble, respectful, and full of heart. A simple act of kindness can turn any moment into a lasting memory.

03

Hospitality

More than just good service, hospitality at Nós Morabeza is a heartfelt tradition. It’s about making every guest feel valued, cared for, and part of the family. Whether through delicious food, great music, or thoughtful attention, hospitality is at the center of everything we do.

04

Warmth

A genuine feeling that surrounds you the moment you arrive. Warmth is expressed through friendly smiles, open hearts, and an atmosphere that makes you feel instantly comfortable and at ease — like coming home after a long journey.

01

Minguta Sequeira

For Minguta Sequeira, this journey started thousands of miles away, on the volcanic island of Fogo, Cape Verde, in the small town of Campanas. Minguta made a name for himself as one of the top entertainment promoters in Cape Verde, working closely with some of the biggest names in the music scene, including the beloved Nho Nani and many others. He had a deep understanding of nightlife, music, and how to bring people together through unforgettable events. Minguta carried with him not only a talent for organizing spectacular parties but also the heart of Cape Verdean culture — a warm, generous, and welcoming spirit known as “Morabeza.” When he came to the United States, Minguta noticed something missing. The Cape Verdean community was here, the culture was alive, but there wasn’t a space that truly brought all those elements together under one roof — music, food, community, and good vibes. He dreamed of creating a place where people could feel at home, celebrate their heritage, and make new memories, no matter where they came from. This dream laid the foundation for what would eventually become Nós Morabeza.

02

Eloisa Spinola

Joining him on this journey was Eloisa, a self-made entrepreneur whose story is equally inspiring. Also from Fogo, Cape Verde, Eloisa moved to the U.S. when she was just four years old. Growing up, her strongest memories were shaped by the comforting aroma of her mother’s cooking, which sparked a lifelong passion for food. She admired how her mother could bring people together through her dishes — filling not just stomachs, but hearts. Eloisa built a successful career as a realtor, working hard to create opportunities for herself and others. But deep down, she always wanted to build something that reflected her culture, her family’s traditions, and her love for hospitality. When the idea of opening a restaurant and lounge that celebrated Cape Verdean warmth came along, she knew this was her chance to bring that childhood inspiration to life.

03

Anonymous

The third partner, who chooses to remain anonymous, plays a key but quiet role in this journey. With over 13 years of experience in the restaurant industry, he brings a wealth of knowledge, strategy, and operational expertise to the team. His love for Cape Verdean culture and the Morabeza spirit — that feeling of genuine hospitality and togetherness — inspired him to support Minguta and Eloisa’s vision wholeheartedly. Though he prefers to stay behind the scenes, his contribution has been instrumental in shaping Nós Morabeza into a well-balanced, vibrant, and welcoming establishment. Together, these three individuals combined music, culture, hospitality, and business savvy to bring Nós Morabeza to life. It’s more than just a restaurant, lounge, or nightclub — it’s a celebration of heritage, a gathering place for the community, and a destination where everyone can experience the warmth, rhythm, and flavor of Cape Verde.Their shared dream has become a reality — a place where people can eat, dance, connect, and create unforgettable memories. And at the heart of it all is Morabeza — that unmistakable Cape Verdean spirit that welcomes everyone with open arms.

Meet the Chef

Manuela Pina

Manuela Pina was born in 1984 in Campanas de Baixo, on the Island of Fogo, Cape Verde. She grew up in São Filipe, where she began her professional journey at the age of 17 as a reporter for Rádio Nova on Fogo Island. Her early career reflected her curiosity, discipline, and strong connection to her community. She later transitioned into education, teaching computer science for two years, and went on to work at the Municipal Chamber of São Filipe. Manuela also completed professional training in sales techniques through the Italian NGO COSPE, which led her to serve as Commercial Director at Adega Sodade dos Mosteiros.

Continuing her professional growth, she entered the banking sector, where she worked at BCN and Novo Banco, eventually serving as a Branch Manager. Her leadership roles strengthened her operational expertise, discipline, and commitment to excellence. In December 2015, Manuela emigrated to the United States, where she worked in several corporate environments, gaining diverse professional experience. However, her lifelong passion for gastronomy—rooted deeply in her family traditions—began to call her toward a new path. Her love for food was inherited from her grandmother, Tataia, who taught her the importance of fresh, simple ingredients, and from her mother, Santinha, who lovingly prepared meals for family gatherings and community celebrations. These early influences shaped Manuela’s philosophy that food is not only nourishment but also connection, memory, and identity.

In 2020, she formally embraced her culinary calling and graduated in Culinary Arts from the New England Culinary Arts Training (NECAT) in Boston. Since then, she has worked in restaurants specializing in American, Greek, and Italian cuisines, refining her technique and expanding her culinary perspective. Today, Chef Manuela identifies strongly with rustic Mediterranean cuisine and is deeply passionate about cooking with fresh, seasonal ingredients in a true Farm-to-Table style. Her cuisine reflects her heritage, her journey, and her belief that the most meaningful food begins with respect for ingredients, tradition, and community.
